The Trap/Hoop is a fabulous mixture of the two most common apparatuses. The bar at the top functions as a trapeze, and the hoop adds more diversity for inventing moves. If you order a Trap/Hoop with fixed ropes, the ropes are spliced onto two custom thimbles at the trapeze-hoop junction, and then covered with leather cuffs to protect the splices.
The ropes are not sewn on, allowing the hoop to move for extra versatility. The construction is the same as a trapeze and a lyra, just combined.
Options with the Trap/Hoop include the size of the lyra, the length of the bar, wrapped or bare metal (with a protective coating), and attached rope or tabs. Usually the bar is the length of a single trapeze, which is 22 inches, and the lyra is rolled to a 37 inch diameter.
