Christina Sporrong
Spitfire Forge was established in 1998 in Taos, NM by Christina Sporrong. It became a successful metal shop business and home to many women’s welding workshops.
Working with steel was not her only passion though, as she pursued her love for dance and circus. She has created many one-of-a-kind contraptions for fire performances and circus alike.
Christina has a long working relationship with Wise Fool New Mexico, and has performed with WFNM over the past ten years. Her focus is Aerial Silks and stilts. She has attended several of the Frequent Flyer Festivals over the years expandingher skills hanging upside down from various apparatus. She choreographed Amortec, a dance between a woman on stilts and a six legged aluminum walking robot.
She is the creator and builder of the Heron Project, a 30 Foot tall, kinetic, crane like truss sculpture for aerialists and dancers to play upon. Building high quality custom aerial equipment and sculptures is the natural merging of her two passions.
